Our Impact

We thank you for your interest in our friendly village school and extend a warm welcome to children, parents, carers and families of children who wish to find out more about us.

Kentisbeare is a thriving village Primary School founded in 1793. It is a Church of England Primary School and still maintains the principles of its foundation. Christian values underpin the aims of the school.

Our caring, stimulating environment aims to develop each child’s full potential. We encourage and expect high standards in both work and behavior.

We make our school personal – every child and adult matters here.

We are proud to say that our organization, the Friends of Kentisbeare, has successfully accomplished several things that are of benefit to the school and its wonderful pupils.

Most recently we arranged a historical school trip to an ancient WW1 battlefield in France, so that the pupils could better understand what remembrance day is about.

A few months ago, we worked to get one of the school’s children a statement of special needs from the local council, which entitled her to receive the help she needed in class and with her exams.

Last summer, we applied for the Discovery fitness instructor courses scholarship on behalf of the school and were accepted, meaning that each year one of our older pupils gets to study for a gym instructor qualification free of charge.

Last Christmas, we were able to obtain a grant of £10,000 from the education authority for the refurbishment of the school hall in time for the nativity play.
